Start out by slowly scanning back and forth among the stars. You will be amazed at just how many more stars there are in the sky! While the naked eye can see perhaps 3,000 stars on a clear, dark night, 35-mm binoculars will show an estimated 50,000! Each season holds special stargazing surprises. Let

Such a search for very rare interactions with a low energy deposit involves two major aspects a sensitive detector and a highly efficient suppression of backgrounds (since also many other particles interact in the detector apart from WIMPs and have to be discriminated from the interesting signals)..Due to the low event rate anticipated for WIMP-nucleus elastic scattering, we require an extremely low background environment. Not only WIMPs but also muons, neutrons, electrons,

By the same argument the flat galactic rotation curves seem to suggest that each galaxy is surrounded by significant amounts of dark matter. Does Electroweak Breaking Affect the Macroscopic World? Since all material is made of atoms and since atoms are made of electrons, protons and neutrons, the breaking produces the mass of everything. When Are Scientists Likely to Solve This Problem? The Large Hadronic Collider, which is

They must have been much closer together than they are now. Cosmology is the study of the origin and development of the Universe and the currently most popular theory is that of the Big Bang. This theorises that at about 20,000,000,000 years ago all the matter and space that make up the Universe were concentrated into a very small volume. The theory states that the Universe came into being as an extremely small volume full of energy which gave the Universe a very high temperature. As the
