Bright meteors the shower didn t live up to expectations. This was the first full LRGB image I ve done with the CCD camera in well over a year and I m pleased with the result. The Mak-Newt did a great job as well. 10 12 09 Enjoyed a beautiful night at the Upham site with excellent fall conditions. First night out with my G11 mount upgrade (thanks Kirbini!) and I chose two targets I had not imaged before the Cocoon and Iris Nebs. The 190mm Mak Newt did a fantastic job with the modified Canon

The Horsehead Nebula. This H color mosaic is a combination of many CCD and film images, recorded over a time span of four years. The H frames are the most recent and show McNeil newly discovered nebula (see this enlargement). 8 fields were photographed from locations in Germany and South Africa and stitched together using techniques developed for assembling my all-sky panorama. It was less than optimal viewing at Tufts out near Worcester, MA Scattered high sirrus moving through all night. As the meteors were scarce, by previous years standards, I posted some other images of the night that do not contain meteors - just me having fun. The two below were taken on the first wave.
